1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the REMITNIX platform ("Service"), operated by REMITNIX Pvt. Ltd. ("Company", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.
These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and REMITNIX. They apply to all visitors, registered users, and any person who accesses or uses the Service in any capacity.
2. Definitions
- "Platform" means the REMITNIX website, mobile application, and all related services.
- "User" means any individual who registers for or uses the Platform.
- "Remittance" means cross-border money transfer from India to Nepal, facilitated exclusively through IME Remit.
- "Utility Services" means bill payments, mobile recharges, and other digital payment services in Nepal, powered by Khalti by IME.
- "Wallet" means the digital prepaid instrument issued to Users within the Platform.
- "KYC" means Know Your Customer — the identity verification process required for certain services.
- "Supported Countries" means the 14 countries from which REMITNIX currently accepts Users: India, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE, Malaysia, Kuwait, South Korea, Japan, Bahrain, Oman, Maldives, United States, United Kingdom, and Australia.
3. Eligibility
To use REMITNIX, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction
- Be a resident of one of our 14 Supported Countries
- Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
- Not be on any sanctions or denied-persons list maintained by OFAC, the UN, the EU, or any applicable government authority
- Complete identity verification (KYC) for remittance, wallet top-up, and peer-to-peer wallet transfer features
4. Account Registration
You must register for an account to access most features of the Platform. During registration, you are required to provide your name, email address, phone number, and country of residence. You may also register via Google or Facebook social login.
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities conducted through your account. You must notify us immediately at legal@remitnix.com of any unauthorized access.
One Account Policy: Each individual may maintain only one REMITNIX account. Creating multiple accounts may result in immediate suspension or permanent ban, and forfeiture of any wallet balance.
5. Services Provided
REMITNIX provides the following services, subject to availability in your country of residence:
- India–Nepal Remittance: Cross-border money transfer from India to Nepal, facilitated exclusively through our licensed remittance partner, IME Remit. This service is available only to Users registered in India.
- Utility Bill Payments: Pay Nepal electricity (NEA), water (Khanepani, KUKL), internet, TV/cable, and other utility bills — powered by Khalti by IME. Available to Users from all 14 Supported Countries.
- Mobile Recharge: Top up NTC, Ncell, and other Nepal mobile operators — powered by Khalti by IME. Available to Users from all Supported Countries.
- Travel Booking: Domestic bus tickets, flight tickets, mountain flights, and cable car bookings within Nepal — powered by Khalti by IME.
- Government Payments: Traffic fine (eChallan), bluebook renewal, government revenue payments, and social security fund deposits.
- Financial Services: Insurance premium payments, EMI payments, and MeroShare/DEMAT renewal.
- Wallet: Digital prepaid wallet denominated in your local currency. Top-up via Cashfree payment gateway (UPI, cards, netbanking).
- Peer-to-Peer Wallet Transfer: Send wallet credits to other REMITNIX Users within the same country. This is an internal, same-country platform credit transfer — not a cross-border money transfer or remittance. Available to KYC-verified Users only.
Important Disclosure: REMITNIX Pvt. Ltd. is a technology platform and does not independently hold a money transfer, remittance, or banking license. All cross-border remittance services are facilitated through IME Remit (licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank). Utility and recharge services are processed through Khalti by IME. Domestic wallet services are operated under applicable RBI Prepaid Payment Instrument (PPI) guidelines.
6. Licensed Partners & Disclosures
REMITNIX operates as a technology interface that partners with licensed financial entities to deliver services:
- IME Remit — Licensed remittance service provider (Nepal Rastra Bank). Handles India–Nepal cross-border money transfers.
- Khalti by IME — Utility payment partner. Handles all bill payments, mobile recharges, travel bookings, and miscellaneous services in Nepal.
- Cashfree Payments — PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. Processes all wallet top-ups and payment collections.
- DIDIT — Identity verification (KYC) provider. Processes document and biometric verification.
By using our services, you acknowledge that your transaction data will be shared with the relevant partner as necessary to complete your transaction. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed data-sharing disclosures.
7. Country Detection & Geolocation
When you first visit REMITNIX, we automatically detect your country of residence using IP-based geolocation to provide you with the correct currency, exchange rates, payment methods, and available services for your region.
- We use third-party IP geolocation services (ip-api.com and fallback providers) to determine your approximate location from your IP address.
- No precise GPS location is collected. Only country-level detection is performed.
- Your detected country is stored in your browser session and, upon registration, saved to your user profile.
- You may manually change your country at any time via the Preferences selector in the navigation menu.
- If geolocation fails or your country is not in our Supported Countries list, you will be defaulted to India (IN).
The detected country determines your local currency, applicable exchange rates, available payment methods, service availability, and applicable regulatory framework. Misrepresenting your country of residence is a violation of these Terms.
8. KYC & Identity Verification
Certain services require completion of Know Your Customer (KYC) verification:
- Minimum KYC (phone + email verification): Required for utility payments and mobile recharges.
- Full KYC (government ID + biometric/selfie): Required for wallet top-ups, remittance, peer-to-peer wallet transfers, and withdrawal features. Processed through our partner DIDIT.
We reserve the right to request additional documentation at any time. Failure to complete KYC within a reasonable timeframe may result in service restrictions or account suspension. Providing falsified or fraudulent identity documents is a criminal offense and will result in permanent ban and reporting to authorities.
9. Payment Terms & Fees
All payments are processed through Cashfree's PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway. For Indian Users, available methods include UPI, debit/credit cards, and netbanking. For international Users, card payments are supported.
- Exchange Rates: Sourced from global FX markets with a transparent margin applied. Rates are locked for 5 minutes at the time of transaction initiation.
- Service Fees: A platform fee of up to 4.5% may be applied depending on your country and payment method. The exact fee is always displayed before you confirm the transaction.
- Taxes: GST (18%) is applicable on service fees for Indian Users as per Government of India regulations. Tax amounts are displayed in your transaction receipt.
- Currency: All prices and wallet balances are shown in the local currency of your registered country.
Transparency Commitment: REMITNIX earns revenue through exchange rate margins and service fees. There are no hidden charges. The total cost including all fees is always shown before you confirm a transaction.
10. Wallet Services
The REMITNIX Wallet is a closed-loop digital prepaid instrument:
- Wallet balance is denominated in the currency of your registered country (INR, SAR, AED, etc.).
- Wallet funds can only be used to pay for services within the REMITNIX Platform.
- Wallet balance is non-transferable to external bank accounts except as refund-to-source.
- Withdrawals are processed as refund-to-source — funds are returned to the original payment method used for the top-up.
- Wallet credits received via peer-to-peer transfers or referral bonuses are platform credits and cannot be withdrawn as cash.
- Maximum wallet balance and transaction limits are determined by your KYC level and country regulations.
RBI Compliance (Indian Users): Wallet services for Indian Users are operated in accordance with the Reserve Bank of India's Prepaid Payment Instruments (PPI) Master Directions. Full KYC is required for wallet balances exceeding ₹10,000.
11. Refunds & Cancellations
- Successful Transactions: Once a utility payment, recharge, or remittance is successfully processed, it is final and non-refundable.
- Failed Transactions: If a transaction fails after payment, the amount will be automatically refunded to your REMITNIX Wallet within 24–72 hours. If wallet refund is not applicable, refund-to-source will be initiated within 5–7 business days.
- Duplicate Payments: If you are charged twice for the same transaction, contact support with the transaction IDs. Verified duplicates are refunded within 5–7 business days.
- Travel Bookings: Bus and flight ticket cancellation policies are governed by the respective operator's terms. Cancellation fees may apply.
For all refund requests, please contact us within 30 days of the transaction date. Refund requests beyond 30 days may be declined.
12. Prohibited Activities
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law
- Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with KYC or identity verification requirements
- Use the Service for money laundering, terrorist financing, fraud, or other financial crimes
- Create false, misleading, or duplicate accounts
- Misrepresent your country of residence, identity, or personal information
- Use VPNs or proxy services to misrepresent your geographic location for the purpose of accessing services not available in your actual country
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Platform
- Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the Service infrastructure
- Use automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to interact with the Platform
- Attempt to access another User's account without authorization
Violation of any of the above may result in immediate account suspension, forfeiture of wallet balance, and reporting to applicable law enforcement authorities.
13. AML & CFT Compliance
REMITNIX is committed to full compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (CFT) regulations:
- We monitor transactions for suspicious patterns using automated systems and manual review.
- We may freeze, delay, or decline transactions that trigger risk thresholds.
- We report Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) to the Financial Intelligence Unit-India (FIU-IND) and applicable regulatory bodies.
- We maintain transaction records for a minimum of 5 years as required by the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
- We reserve the right to request additional documentation or explanation for large or unusual transactions.
14. Intellectual Property
The REMITNIX name, logo, trademarks, and all original content, features, and functionality of the Platform are owned by REMITNIX Pvt. Ltd. and are protected by international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property laws.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Platform for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms. This license does not include the right to modify, distribute, or create derivative works.
15. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- REMITNIX shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill.
- REMITNIX shall not be liable for delays or failures caused by third-party payment processors, banks, remittance partners, or utility service providers.
- REMITNIX shall not be liable for losses arising from unauthorized access to your account due to your failure to safeguard your credentials.
- Our total aggregate liability for any claim arising under these Terms shall not exceed the total fees paid by you to REMITNIX in the 12 months preceding the claim.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless REMITNIX Pvt. Ltd., its directors, officers, employees, agents, and partners from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of or inability to use the Service
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Your provision of inaccurate, incomplete, or fraudulent information
17. Dispute Resolution & Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
- Informal Resolution: Any dispute shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation by contacting us at legal@remitnix.com. We will endeavor to resolve disputes within 30 days.
- Arbitration: If informal resolution fails, disputes shall be submitted to binding arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The seat of arbitration shall be Mumbai, India.
- Jurisdiction: Subject to the arbitration clause above, the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra, India shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
18. Changes to Terms & Contact
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email or in-app notification before the new terms take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
